When it comes to elegance coupled with a bit of style, nothing says it better than the 2019 Buick Cascada; the new model is retrofitted for comfort and comes with all the requisite bells and whistles. The Buick Cascada is a premium end model that gives you top end cruising speed and comes with a reasonable price tag. Given the fact that most of the top auto-makers are moving towards the SUV variant, it is nice to see that the ‘convertible’ get a new makeover, with this new model.
2019 Buick Cascada Overview
The 2019 Buick Cascada comes with more than just a few cosmetic changes; while it should be pointed out that the last model was based on Opel which was already several years old, the new one does come with some modifications to the exterior along with a few important tweaks on the interior. As convertibles go, this one certainly looks good and even feels good, with plush leather seats on the premium trims.
The overall design seems to stay the same but with an excess of chrome for the midlevel and premium trims with a better performance this time around with its unique turbo engine. The only downside seems to be the fact that it comes with a cluttered interior but more on that later. Let’s take a closer look at the 2019 Buick Cascada, shall we?
Exterior, under the hood
While the overall design seems to be more or less the same as with the last year’s model, the 2019 Buick Cascada comes with a few definitive changes to the exterior. Apart from a new palette for the new model and yes it comes with more choices than before – you can also look forward to 20-inch wheels, 13.4 cubic feet in the trunk (which is a bit small), and with the top down, this even reduces further to just ten feet.
This can be problematic especially if you are planning on carting luggage in your trunk. The good news is that the overall design flow is maintained, so you can expect the same except for a few tweaks to the front and rear fascia, it also comes with a slightly larger wheelbase at 106.11, along with a front wheel drive, and a power-folding fabric top for even the most basic trims. So you can just roll up the top at the push of a button and enjoy the rest of your ride.
The 2019 Buick Cascada comes with similar interiors to last year’s model with a few changes; all the trim levels come with plush leather on the inside and not some faux leather as you may come across in a few other models. But the central stack with various instrumentation panels seems to be a little over the top and as a result comes off as “cluttered”.
The front seats are adjustable and quite comfy with a lot of leg room; however, the rear seats would be a better fit for young adults as it can be a bit “compact”. The front seats are also power heated and can be adjusted to move in ten directions which is a plus for those looking for easier ways to get in and out of the car. It also comes with a 7-inch infotainment panel for all the trims and even the basic ones which makes this convertible a good buy.
Engine, Price and Release date
The 2019 Buick Cascada comes with a 1.6-liter turbo engine that packs a wallop at 200 HP and over 221 ft-lb of torque. It is expected that the basic trims would start retailing at around $34000 and it is widely anticipated that the launch of the new Buick model would take place around the third quarter of 2018, or in about a few weeks.
