2019 Chevrolet Equinox Review – Interior, Exterior, Engine, Release Date, and Price

Given the fact that the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is a new entrant to the crossover segment not much was expected from this compact SUV as it was re-launched last year after the makeover session. But we were pleasantly surprised and now, it seems to be that time of the year when yet another model gets slated to be introduced.  While we do not expect any radical changes, it seems that it may still come with more than a few cosmetic changes especially if the rumors are to be believed. So we decided to take a closer look at this model and here’s the review.

Overview:

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is slated to be released shortly and not a moment too soon especially given what its competition has come out with.  It is tagged as a luxury crossover and comes loaded with all the requisite features and more. What does make this car stand out is the attention to detail and the fact that the new SUV with all the bells and whistles would indeed make the perfect family car, spacious enough but one that still packs a punch when you rev up the engine. Incidentally, the new model is supposed to come with a couple of distinctive engines but usually we expect these tweaks for such crossovers.

Exterior, under the hood:

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is a five-passenger crossover SUV, and as such, it sports a tweaked grille and front fascia which lends it a slightly aggressive appearance. It also comes with better contours than last year’s models and comes with LED headlights at the front and the rear end. The overall design is the same but it comes with a slightly larger wheelbase which translates to more space in the interior. What sets this car apart is that it comes with a modest 1.5 liter for the basic trim which soon upgrades to 2.0 liter for the higher trims and offers you two powertrain options as well.

It also comes with an all-wheel drive on some of the trims that should enable you to handle the rough and tumble with ease. It also sports new metal alloy tires which make for a perfect look. The side panels are more or less the same; the higher trims come with fog lights as well and if that were not enough, it also comes with the adaptive suspension which makes for a great driving experience.

Interior:

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox comes with spacious interior along with plush leather upholstery along with enough cargo space. It also comes with keyless entry and ignition, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, climate control, a neat dashboard that is not too cluttered. Apart from all these, the new model also comes with a driver information display, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with android auto and Apple car play. It also comes with a range of advanced safety features such as a 360-degree camera parking system, navigation, anti-collision tech along with lane departure assist and lane keeping assist.

Drivetrain, launch date, specs, prices:

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox comes with  1.5-liter four-cylinder (170 horsepower, 203 pound-feet of torque) coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. A more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter engine (252 hp, 260 lb-ft) is optional and comes standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Also optional is a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter diesel (137 hp, 240 lb-ft). The new model is expected to be launched by the end of this year. The new model is currently priced at $32900 which can be a steal seeing the features that this car comes with.
