The demon or as it is called today, the Hellcat has gotten a new avatar; the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is all set to hit the roads soon after undergoing a major upgrade. If you wanted speed, more power, then you got to know that you need not look beyond Dodge and true to form; it seems that Dodge is bringing back the Hellcat in a modified version. Though most of the details are still hazy as it is to be expected, from the leaked images of the hellcat revving up on the ramp to details released by the company itself, we have managed to put together a review, just for you. So, shall we get to it?
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Overview:
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon/hellcat certainly seems to be an improvement for the whole Dodge lineup. The pictures do not do it enough justice; we certainly won’t be satisfied until we are behind the wheel testing it but guess we’ll have to wait a bit for the same.
From the reviews, and since Demon has been retired for the upcoming year at least, most of the focus would be on Hellcat redeye. If some of the rumours are to be believed, it seems that the new model will be mated exclusively with Torque Flite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic. That’s gotten your attention, hasn’t it? Read on to know more.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon/ Hellcat come with a new widebody kit which was featured on last year’s model but this one is definitely an improvement. Essentially, this means that the car now sports larger wheels, 20 by 11, with the devil’s rim along with forged aluminium alloy to complete the look.
The car comes with the same aluminium hood along with extra features such as launch assist, launch control, line lock, SRT drive moves, SRT performance and the works.
The neat thing about this model is that whichever trim you chose, even the widebody one with SRT tuned chassis, you are bound to be pleased with the overall performance of this car.
It also comes with a drag strip tuned adaptive suspension, which is what it needs for that kind of speed. And of course, this car is much lighter than its earlier variant, by at least 101 Kg and that’s saying a lot. And as a result, it packs quite a punch, when started and since it’s essentially a drag racing car, the new model has stayed true to the norm.
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon comes with the driver seat and since the car had to shed some of the excess luggage, to work in more speed, the passenger seat had to go. But you can always get it refitted in for a small fee. The instrument panels are neatly featured with hardly much of a change,
it seems that only the engine got rebooted and with the rumoured speed doing the rounds, we would not have expected any less. Anyway, the car comes with a larger airbox and has been re-engineered to be faster so if you were expecting a comfy car, you may want to mull that over, a little.
Price Engine and Release Date
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon comes with a two fuel pump and a 840 HP supercharged V8. Yes, you heard it right, 840 HP so you can imagine the power of the engine squealing down the race track.
The launch date may take place during first quarter 2019 but with most of the info still being kept under wraps, we have to make an educated guess and as for the pricing, it is rumoured to be around $84995
