It seems that the 2019 Ford Expedition would soon be launched and in all honesty, we were expecting this for some time now. One of the reasons that have gotten all of us excited is the fact that the Ford Expedition, ever since it had its makeover last year, became one of the largest SUV’s so naturally, we were more than just ‘interested’ to see the new changes. With most of the details being kept under wraps, we managed to source and collate information on the new model from reliable quarters and have prepped this review. So, let’s take a closer look at this car, shall we?
The 2019 Ford Expedition is rumored to come with the largest wheelbase among SUVs and that’s something that all of us believe to be true given the fact that Expedition is indeed one of the largest SUVs to hit the roads recently. Since it underwent a major redesign last year, we do not expect the new model to feature any radical changes except for a few cosmetic tweaks and changes to make the car stand out which, incidentally is not hard given is size.
Exterior, looking under the hood:
The 2019 Ford Expedition comes with chiseled stone features, a softer grille along with rounded corners that gives it a sleeker look. The front fascia has undergone some minor changes and so has the front bumper; the new model also comes with C shaped headlights and we hope that the automaker will change the same with the next generation. Other than this, the car also comes with a bolder retro look in the shape of arrow straight body line, along with slab-sided body panels.
Given its size, naturally the doors are large and big, but with the chroma block, they certainly stand out. While the wheelbase remains the same, the base trims come with 18-inch wheels which can easily well up to 20 inches and even 22 inches on the higher trims, thereby providing you with better traction on the road. The new model comes with these trims – base XLT, Limited, and Platinum and naturally, each trim may come with additional features, visually appealing cues to set them apart from others. The rear end was a bit of a letdown but overall, the exterior of the new model looks as great as ever.
The 2019 Ford Expedition comes with the same trims as last year – base XLT, Limited, and Platinum and they all come with the same interior as last year with a few additional features being added to the mix for comfort; it comes with leather stitched seats, heated and cooled seats, power steering, along with leather cover for the same, among others. The top end trims come with actual wood trims on the interior which provides it with a classier look.
The new model comes with SiriusXM radio, a nine-speaker audio system, along with four USB ports power-adjustable pedals, a rotary gear shifter, push-start ignition, touchscreen infotainment panel, a rearview camera with rear parking sensors, an SOS post-crash alert system, and much more.
