With the news that Ford was getting all ready to launch its 2019 Ford F-150, we had to scramble fast to get the review up and ready on time. Ford is one of the few that has managed to carve a niche for itself as far as the luxury wagon is concerned and the news that the next edition is soon to out have already managed to generate a fair amount of interest and why not?
We really do not expect much changes this time around seeing that it got a redesign only last year, but we hope that this year’s rendition would contain a few styling changes and improvements. So let’s take a closer look at this luxury wagon, shall we?
2019 Ford F-150, an Overview:
The 2019 Ford F-150 comes with its own loyal fan base, and while it may not essentially be a sell-out, it is still one of the top sellers for Ford. The new model comes with the same trims as last year, XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited trim. The one thing that you can claim about the Ford truck is that it does not tinker much with its original design especially the shape as it has retained its two box shape down the various generations.
2019 Ford F-150, under the hood:
The 2019 Ford F-150 comes with few styling changes and truth be told, we were not expecting much in this department. The truck still comes with the same two boxed shape, along with its so solid shape that comes with fewer curves, and the enhanced chrome accented grille with front fascia as well as LED adaptive headlights for the higher trims. The front bumper is slightly lowered but not by much.
The side panels are as solid as ever, with the sheet metal contouring along the solid body line of the truck itself, and leading towards the massive tailgate at the back. The one key differences are that the sports and advanced trims may come with a honeycombed grille as well as heavy bright finishes, but the rear end gets the same treatment as the front, and also comes with enhanced tail lights.
Some of the trim models feature a huge F150 stamped into their tailgate while the advanced trims come with a metallic brushed insert which adds a nice touch to the vehicle.
2019 Ford F-150, Interior:
The 2019 Ford F-150 comes with the same interior as last year with just a few changes. The base trim interior appears utilitarian and comes with seats covered with easy to clean materials, and is at best sparse. But the advanced trims come with a plush interior, with soft cushions, bulky dash, along with big consoles, big touch screens for infotainment and there’s the option to digitize the instrument panel as well.
Apart from this, some of the advanced trims also come with climate control as well as compatibility to Android auto. It should be pointed out that while other vehicles have migrated to a digitized set up for the instrument cluster, this is one of the few that still retains the old design but you can always update the same, later on.
2019 Ford F-150 Engine, Release Date, and Price
The 2019 Ford F-150 comes with V-6 and V-8 engines, 6- and 10-speed automatics, rear- and four-wheel drive, which rates at 325 hp and 400 lb-ft. It is expected that this model will be launched by this year-end and it is expected that the new price would be around $61360
