It seems that the 2019 Ford Mustang will be another vintage edition to get a modern makeover; if some of the rumours and company spokespersons are to be believed the new car will be a rebooted version of the vintage Mustang that was featured in the 1968 movie Bullitt. Well, we are not sure if a car chase in a movie is reason enough to bring out a new Vintage model but from the leaked images of the 2019 Ford Mustang, it looks like Ford made the right call. So let’s get into it right away, shall we?
2019 Ford Mustang Overview:
The 2019 Ford Mustang was finally revealed at one of the recent auto shows and the rebooted model certainly looks every bit as good as the original one did in the movies. But most of the other details have been kept under wraps but we could see that the new model features highland green as one of the basic colour tones for the exterior.
We are not sure if that’s the only colour palette this new car will come out with but we certainly hope for much more. We expect that the new rebooted mustang will seat at least 4 comfortably with all modern comforts and luxuries.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 Ford Mustang certainly managed to look as good as it did before; it still retains the same flowing lines and front fascia as the Vintage model but with a few changes. As a vintage model, it certainly has a lot to offer and right now, the new Mustang comes with EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium and Bullitt trim levels; please expect more features for the advanced trims. It also comes with 18-inch wheels along with active valve exhaust which should help improve its performance.
The Bullitt trim comes with special wheels, special Bullitt logos along with special exhaust valves. All the trims come with bigger radiators and pack quite a punch when it comes to performance. And since the new model offers both Coupe and convertible types for most trims, you can decide which type you prefer.
One’s built for speed and the other comfort but despite that, both perform equally well. Incidentally, this model comes with rear-wheel drive; overall the new look that this vintage model sport is certainly one that stands out from all the rest.
The 2019 Ford Mustang comes with plush interiors, leather for the higher trim models, with a 12 inch LCD instrument cluster in green font. In case you were wondering what the fixation with the green, well we are told that the original Bullitt car was green. But moving on, the seats are in Recaro black leather with green stitches making it complement the rest of the car’s interior.
It also comes with upgraded infotainment panels, advanced safety features, back up alerts and a lot more. You can expect the higher trim types to showcase more advanced features but for what it’s worth, the interior of this car, which is spacious by the way, is as good as it can be.
Drivetrain, specs, launch date and price:
The 2019 Ford Mustang comes with a retuned 5.0-liter V8 engine that rates at 475 horsepower and also comes loaded with a massive torque at 420 lb-ft. The new model is expected to range at 163 mph and that’s a lot of power packed into one neat package. The new model is expected to be launched by early 2019 and is expected to be priced at $38275.
