With the news of a soon to be expected launch of the 2019 Ford Taurus, we decided to get cracking and see what makes it tick. And with Ford keeping mum on most of the info, we had to go on a scavenger hunt of our own before we could prep this review. The fact that Ford is coming out with a 6th generation Taurus is music to our ears since we can see that most of the fuss is about compacts, crossovers and SUV’s so it was great to hear the news that we can soon expect a brand new sedan to be launched soon. So let’s take a closer look, shall we?
2019 Ford Taurus Overview:
The 2019 Ford Taurus was designed to be the perfect sedan with a roomy trunk and graceful flowing lines; the new model is set to be launched soon and it comes with the following trims, SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO trim levels with each trim level being different from the others. The news has certainly managed to generate a buzz of sorts since there has always been this loyal base who were particular to sedans and now, with the news of the imminent launch of a new sedan doing rounds, this was only to be expected.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 Ford Taurus, comes with a bold front fascia, with a new mesh grille with chrome accents which gives it a new look. From the leaked images, we can see that the new model will feature high-intensity discharge headlamps (HID), along with 19-inch aluminum wheels for the base model and 20-inch wheels for the higher trims. The length specifications are the same but it is expected that the interior may feature more space given the fact that the new model comes with a slightly larger wheelbase.
The side panels look sleek, with curvier bends and smooth, flowing lines to the tweaked front and rear bumpers along with the restyled tail lamps. This is not a complete makeover but just a few touches added here and there to keep the design fresh for that certainly seems to be the case, where the Taurus is concerned. The new model also comes with an all-wheel drive with wider wheels which should offer you enhanced traction especially in times of wet weather and slippery roads.
The 2019 Ford Taurus comes with plush leather upholstery for the advanced trims; it certainly has enough leg room on the interior and comes with heated seats, and power steering along with driver’s seat that can be adjusted easily. It also comes with dual zone climate control features along with the option for intelligent access with a push button start which should make for convenient travel.
The new model also features HD/ satellite radio along with smartphone integration, along with 8-inch touch screen infotainment panel and Ford’s unique entertainment system. The only downside that we can think about is the fact that it is only the higher trims that seem to feature the most advanced safety features but other than that, the whole car is as good as it gets.
Engine Detail, launch date, and Price:
The 2019 Ford Taurus comes with a twin-turbo version of the 3.5-liter V6, generating both 288 horsepower and 365 horsepower respectively. This car can pack a punch and certainly looks aggressive enough to go head to head with some of the big guns out there. It is expected that the new model will be launched by fall this year, around the end of September and the price is expected to range around $28,565 to $43,740
