When it comes to pickup trucks, we are used to enormous and then, the really big ones which are why it is always pleasant to see mini trucks like the 2019 GMC Canyon going head to toe with the big guys. This is not to imply that the upcoming model is a pushover but on the contrary, despite being smaller and at 19 feet from front bumper to its rear, it somehow manages to hold its own. The new car is all set to hit the roads soon which is why we have prepped this review for your convenience, happy reading.
2019 GMC Canyon Overview:
The 2019 GMC Canyon comes with a slightly refreshed look and with most of the details being kept under wraps, we had to rely on leaked images and for the record, and the model is neither small nor a mini but is rather a mid-sized car that comes with all the requisite bells and whistles. What does make this car stand out is the new look it sports and from what we can make out, it’s definitely an improvement over the outgoing model. It remains to be seen if the hype does deliver and if the truck is indeed as good as the spiel that the automaker is handing out, so let’s take a closer look at the truck, shall we?
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 GMC Canyon comes with a mildly refreshed look but even that seems to have given the truck a brand new look. The new model comes in several trims from L, Canyon, SLE, All Terrain, SLT, and Denali, and each seems to come with its own brand of advanced comfort and features. So with the more advanced trims, you can expect leather seats along with all the advanced features that you can think of. The new model comes with an enhanced grille which along with its rectangular headlights gives it an aggressive look.
It also comes with a high rising belt line as well as arched wheels with a slightly larger wheelbase, which should translate to a more spacious and comfortable interior. The side panels and the rear end remain the same without much of a change; the current model comes in both the extended or cab version with the difference being that with the cab version, you get a 6 by 2 bed as well. Overall, this truck is as utilitarian as it gets and it just got a lot more comfortable with the new iteration.
The 2019 GMC Canyon comes with more headroom, especially with the higher trims such as the Denali. The interior features more changes than the exterior; the higher trims come with leather upholstery but overall, the interior on all the trims is as comfy as it is going to get with any car. The new model comes loaded with a raft of features which should help increase the comfort level, from the curvy dashboard with the instrument cluster near at hand to the 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat and the touch screen infotainment center.
