With the focus being mainly on SUVs and crossovers, it is always pleasing to see that even pickup trucks get a makeover and that certainly seems to be the case with the 2019 GMC Sierra. The car has gotten a mini makeover of sorts and let’s gets something straight right off the bat, the Sierra to all intents and purposes is a truck and certainly drives like one if the last model was any indication. We would love to test this one out and would be doing so shortly. In the meantime, we have prepped a review which should give you a good idea of what to expect with the new truck.
2019 GMC Sierra Overview:
The 2019 GMC Sierra certainly seems to have gotten more “beastly” but in a good way; it certainly looks larger and more aggressive but that apart, the styling on the front sure makes it stand out from the rest of the crowd. This is the pickup truck that you need for all those off-road trips and the clearance level, large wheels along with enhanced suspension should make the drive more comfortable. Given the fact that it was going head to head with some of the big guns out there, this was expected and the automaker has obliged by giving the car, a brand new look.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 GMC Sierra comes with 18-inch dark tinted wheels along with rancho shock absorbers, and if that was not enough to get more eyeballs on it, it also features the sheet metal that gave the outgoing model its unique look. It also comes with a carbon probed and this is the first time that such a bed had been used on a pickup truck, thereby making it all the more robust and attractive.
The new model even weighs much less than the current one and the carbon bed’s mainly to account for the same since the last one used steel plates. The new Sierra also comes with a multi pro tailgate in six different positions that makes it even harder to resist; now you should be able to control the tailgate with a single button and be able to utilize the same without even getting out of the truck, how’s that for convenient? With a tweaked front bumper, grille along with LED headlights and cornering, it’s apparent that GM is no longer content to sit back and allow its competition to steal a march on it, and with this model, it certainly looks like “game on”.
The 2019 GMC Sierra comes with a rehashed interior, with leather upholstery for the higher trims and a neat dashboard with instrument cluster as well as 360 degrees rear view camera which should come handy. It also comes with adaptive ride control suspension system meaning that you should be able to ride in total comfort e4ven when you are taking the vehicle off the road. The new model also features 4T off road package which can be added to some of the advanced trims along with optional 22-inch wheels.
Engine, Release Date, and Price
The 2019 GMC Sierra comes loaded with 6.2-liter V-8 and 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo diesel engines which are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This should provide you with a powerful boost and while all the trims include most if not all the basic features, some, however, are designated for the higher trims only.
The new model is expected to be launched in the fall of 2018 and the pricing is expected to be pegged from 30,395 to $57,695 for the higher trims.
