If the rumours are to be believed, and the leaked pictures, the real deal it seems that the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 may well feature a diesel engine. If that was not enough, it seems that the model has undergone a near-complete makeover, and no longer looks like a Silverado. For starters, the news that it is all set to feature a multi-pro tailgate has gotten a lot of attention; and from what we can make out, from all the rumours doing the rounds, it seems that the new model will also feature a carbon fibre bed as well. So let’s take a closer look at the new avatar, shall we?
2019 GMC Sierra Overview:
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 has finally managed to catch up with the other big players; one of the most repeated criticisms about GMC Sierra was that it was bulky and was heavy to handle. Well, that’s not the case any longer as the new model is all set to feature a new, lightweight look, with a carbon probed and an innovative tailgate that makes this pick up stand out from the rest for all the right reasons. The new model is indeed a new avatar with a lot of changes being made to both the interior and exterior of the car.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 comes with a brand new revolutionary sheet metal on the outside which certainly complements the whole look. Apart from this, the new truck features SLT and Denali grade trims, the later, of course, would come outfitted with all the premium features. But the good news is that all the trims are to come outfitted with the carbon probed, along with multi-pro tailgate which incidentally comes in six positions.
It also comes with a strong sculpted hood with three engines to add to the mix, one of which happens to be 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo diesel which should help make the truck fuel efficient. The model also introduces a new AT4 off-road package that can be fitted easily to both the SLT and Denali trims, especially for those who prefer to head out into the wild, in every sense of the word. With most of the trims, you get the traditional stamped steel bed, but with the Denali, you get the new carbon probed. Incidentally, the Denali comes with 22-inch wheels, with all the trappings.
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 comes equipped with pro gate trailering system along with an overhead 3*3 color head up display unit which should enable you to monitor the road ahead and behind as you operate the truck. It also comes with the rearview camera, surrounds sound, and all the other features you may expect with other trucks and pickups.
It also comes with some advanced safety features such as blind spot monitoring, pedestrian detection and automatic braking which is more essential these days. The neat thing about this car is the fact that you can use the tailgate in six different positions, and even use it as a portable office table.
Engine, Price, Features and Release date
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 comes with three engines, the 5.3 liter V8 coupled with 8-speed transmission, 6.2-liter v8 engine as well as a 3.o liter turbo diesel engine. It is definitely lighter in weight than the last model; it is expected to be priced in the range between $30395 and $57695 and we can expect the launch to take place around fall 2018.
