The 2019 Honda Accord is all set to roll out soon and it has already started the buzz going around and naturally, the details are sparse to say the least. But as with every car, as the launch date approaches, the leaked images and rumours start to do the rounds. We have managed to sift through the lot and have prepped up this review, based on what we think are the ‘real deal’. So let’s take a closer look at the new Honda Accord, shall we?
2019 Honda Accord Overview:
The 2019 Honda Accord will in all probability be released with a few changes since the model went in for an overhaul the last year around. So we should not expect much when it comes to the upcoming launch; we can expect the same trims to be maintained for this year’s model as well with a few changes. Given the fact that the Honda Accord has been around for nearly 41 years (not kidding), and that it has sold 13 million cars to date, we do anticipate a few changes more than cosmetic ones.
And since the competition has already pushed the bar up higher with modifications to drive train, side panels and are offering more features, we do expect that Honda Accord would want to keep up with the rest of the pack.
Exterior, under the hood:
The new 2019 Honda Accord comes slightly stretched out when compared to the outgoing model; at least from the pictures, it sure seems that the new model will be slightly longer which translates to more space for the interior as well as the cargo area. Apart from this, the new model also features a newly designed front fascia with a tweaked front grille and bumper.
It sports the same aerodynamic design that was one of the main features last year.
It seems that the upcoming model will stay true to its roots and would essentially be a family car, with enough space on the inside for the whole family. What’s remarkable about the new model is the changes to the roof, its immediately noticeable that the roof arches better so that it merges with the rear windows seamlessly. From a design perspective that’s a plus and should help to reduce the drag as well; furthermore, the new model with its redesigned front grille, and a perfect aerodynamic design should look good and the new Honda Accord does that and more.
The 2019 Honda Accord comes with various trims ranging from the base LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring and then, there’s the Hybrid. The interior has undergone a few changes, with a better quality display unit than with the last model which was a tad disappointing. So we expect the displays to get a little reworked over but most of the essential features should remain the same.
The model comes with adaptive cruise control, power steering, heated seats, and better ventilation, multi-adjustable driver ’s seat which should make it easy for all to get in and to clamber out of the car. It comes coupled with premium audio, headrests, as well as voice recognition, and the Honda sensing package of driver assist features.
Engine, Release Date, and Price
The 2019 Honda Accord comes loaded with a 1.5-liter turbo engine that ranks at 192 BHP for the standard trims and 2.0-liter turbo engine 4 with 252 BHP for the other trims with the hybrid at 212 BHP with 2.0 litre and all of these with a ten-speed transmission.
The new model is expected to be launched around the fall of 2018 with the price expected to range around $40000.
