It seems that the day is finally here when the new 2019 Honda HR-V will soon be whizzing along these roads; we did expect Honda to give us the updated HR-V a lot sooner but we are just glad that it’s finally going to happen. Naturally, we sourced information on the new updated HR-V and poured over all the information that we could collate from the specs, leaked images, rumours, and even interviews before prepping this review for your convenience. So let’s get cracking and take a closer look at the updated Honda CR-V, shall we?
2019 Honda HR-V Overview:
The 2019 Honda HR-V, has been under wraps for a while but now, it seems that the crossover did get a new look – at least that’s what we figure from studying the leaked images. Apart from this, it seems that the new model will no longer feature 6-speed manual transmission will also be spot on as well. We do expect more than a few changes to both the exterior and the interior, with even changes to the trim levels. We can even expect a brand new trim from Honda for its HR-V lineup but let’s see.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 Honda HR-V comes with a bold new front fascia with a prominent chrome grille insert with restyled headlights and fresh new contouring for the side panels. The overall look is sleek, with brand new wheels and slightly larger and wider ones for the other trims. The news about new trim levels is also spot on; it seems that Honda will be offering two new trims with the new model; so you can expect the following trim levels with the new model – LX, EX, and EX-L along with the new ones, sports and touring trim models.
And each trim level comes with its own visual cues setting it apart from the other trim levels; apart from this, the new model also comes with revised bumpers, LED running highlights, as well as new taillights, completing the new look. It also comes with three new colours, Orange Burst Metallic, Midnight Amethyst Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl so you should have more choice as far as the car palette goes and you can choose the one that you want. Some of the other trims come with larger wheels, making the car look slightly muscular but overall the re-designing has been spot on and the car looks great.
The 2019 Honda HR-V comes with a revamped interior, with plush leather upholstery, which makes it all the more luxurious and comfortable. The seats are comfortable with heated driver’s seat that’s adjustable along with power steering, adaptive cruise control and an instrument panel that’s within easy reach. Moreover, the dashboard curves elegantly with the 7-inch touch screen infotainment panel with android auto and Apple car play compatibility along with blue tooth, USB ports, and premium audio system. This car also comes with Honda sensing safety package along with all the bells and whistles, so you can expect the higher trims to feature all the safety and anti-collision features.
Engine, Release Date, and Price
The 2019 Honda HR-V comes with a 1.8-liter inline-four engine with 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque which seems to be the same as last time around. But that being said, it still packs quite a punch and we do hope that Honda will go in for an improved drivetrain next time around. The new model is all set to make its appearance by next month and the price for the most advanced trim is set at $26315
