When the news of the 2019 Hyundai Tucson made the rounds, we expected to see more than a few cosmetic changes given that it’s mid-life for this model and most automakers usually do carry out a mini-makeover around this time. We started to collate all the information we could find on the new model to see what makes it tick. And from the various interviews, leaked images and rumours, we managed to source enough material for our review. So let’s take a closer look at the new Tuscon, shall we?
2019 Hyundai Tucson Overview:
The 2019 Hyundai Tucson it seems may come with just a few styling changes or at least, that’s how it seems to us on taking a closer look at the leaked images. But that’s not really a bad thing, in the sense that this car has always been a looker ever since the first generation. But if the rumours are true, then it seems that the interior will be getting revamped and the new model may well sport a new engine making it perform even better. That just makes us all eager to try it out when it gets launched and we hope that’s real soon.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 Hyundai Tucson comes with few changes to the exterior, which was a bit of a let-down given that it’s midlife for this model and we did expect some radical changes or major tweaks. But that being said – the new model does come with a new grille which lends it a classier look as well as restyled LED headlights with cornering and a tweaked front bumper, making it look more like Kona. The front fascia remains the same as does the rear end fascia but the tail lights get the same treatment as the headlights.
Some of the advanced trim also come with fog lights which is an added plus but that depends more on where you live and whether you really require fog lights or not. The wheelbase for this SUV remains the same and the new model comes with the same trims as last year as well as 18-inch wheel options for all the trims with larger ones for the advanced trims. Overall, the exterior still looks as classy as it did before but one hopes that the next year’s version will carry more than just a tweak or two and introduce some major restyling changes to the model and the base design itself.
The 2019 Hyundai Tucson comes with a slightly revamped interior; since the size specs are the same, expect the same proportions as before. You can expect leather-trimmed seats for the higher trims, as well as plush upholstery, a neat dash with a touchscreen that rises from it instead of nestling within the dash thereby making it all the more easier for you to use the same.
The car also comes with adaptive cruising, surround view camera system, as well as the standard rearview camera for blind spot monitoring. The new model comes with more advanced tech and with more add-ons than you can shake a stick at.
