The 2019 Toyota RAV4 certainly promises to be a game changer that’s more SUV than a compact; with a beefier styling, it certainly stands out for all the right reasons. Some of the leaked pictures make it apparent that we can expect the new model to come with more road clearance, a truck like an appearance with off-road traction control system that should make this vehicle suitable for travel on most terrains.
Toyota has decided to jettison its last year makeover and has instead opted to head back to the basics, with a sound practical design, enhanced adventure trims, chiseled side profiles with chunky roof pillars, completing the appearance. So let’s take a look under the hood, shall we?
2019 Toyota RAV4 review
The 2019 Toyota RAV 4 has undergone a nearly complete makeover with several changes, both on the exteriors and the interior. There are plans to introduce a hybrid version later next year but the current new variant is a re-engineered compact crossover that seems to have more to offer as far as space is concerned.
In all likelihood, this is bound to become one of the top sellers for Toyota; it certainly comes with a better design for the interior along with ‘easy to differentiate’ trims.
Exterior, What to expect?
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 certainly resembles an SUV especially with its extended wheelbase, extra road clearance, and 19-inch wheels; the older model has certainly undergone a makeover and the end result, is certainly pleasing to the eye. With updated exterior styling, the RAV4 certainly has an aerodynamic shape, coupled with next-generation architecture, and sporting a new look in the process.
The RAV4 comes with an angular defined nose as well as a lot of intricate details making up the front fascia. And to add to the mix, there are the redesigned headlights which are more inclined towards the fenders along with a hexagonal central intake, which seems to have undergone a dichotomy, thanks to the black divider lines.
The car measures 180.9 inches from fender to fender which is a tad shorter than last year’s model, but the new model sports extra width with an additional 73 inches being added with those extra body panels and architecture. The sides are sharper with shoulder line, and creases that naturally direct the eye towards the fender flares.
The side view mirrors are repositioned a bit lower to provide the driver with enhanced visibility and the car also comes with a large rear quarter glass for the same purpose. The RAV4 line also features an adventure model for those who prefer off the road trips; with a more rugged body type, wider fender flares, LED headlights, and with larger roof rails thereby making it perfect for those off-road trips.
Interiors, looking under the hood
Inside the 2019 Toyota RAV4 features a near symmetrical dashboard, which should put either the 7 inch or 8-inch infotainment panel, right up front and center. The RAV4 also features climate and comfort controls which can be located right below the infotainment panel, along with an easy control knob for multiple drive modes. The new model also comes with enhanced safety features including a rearview camera as well as higher spec trim levels along with a 7 inch TFT display that includes the instrument cluster.
Drivetrain, specs, launch date and pricing: The 2019 Toyota RAV4 comes with a 2.5 liter inline-4 along with 8-speed transmission engine. The automaker has not released much information other than to state that the new model will be 15% more powerful than the previous model which should put the new model at 200 Horsepower. It is expected that the new RAV4 would make its appearance towards the end of this year, with a price tag of $24510
