When we got the news that we can soon expect the launch of the 2019 Toyota Sienna, we were not that shocked or for that matter, did we go over the moon for the simple reason that this is one minivan that seems to have been stuck in a rut as far as styling changes were concerned. Still, we decided to collate all the information that we could on the new model and prep this review.
After pouring over the leaked images, we can confirm that the exterior won’t feature much by way of changes but to be fair, this is the mid-life stage for this model and we do believe that it should have at least included incremental changes, at the least. Either way, let’s take a closer look and see if the minivan has some surprises in store for us, shall we?
The 2019 Toyota Sienna comes with the same design as before but it has certainly been one of the popular cars for those who love minivans. To say that this model is spacious would be restating the obvious and one of the reasons for its popularity is the fact that it is family friendly and comes loaded with lots of space, for both passengers and cargo. Incidentally, it comes with the same trims as before, with nary a change.
Exterior, under the hood:
The 2019 Toyota Sienna sports on the same exterior as the last model; it does come with a slightly re-tuned front fascia and still sports on its bade right amidst the grille slats, divided into two. It should be admitted that the overall effect is pleasing to the eye. The front bumper is now body coloured, making for a nice look but the side panels are as before without much of a change.
Minivans are supposed to look practical and to that end, this one does just that and more. The new model also features slightly retuned led tail lights along with led headlights on the front with cornering. The wheelbase is more or less the same but you can opt for larger wheels with your trim, for more traction on the road. The good news is that the interior has undergone a revamp of sorts and comes with more comfort centric features so let’s take a look at the same.
The 2019 Toyota Sienna features a revamped interior; it does not feature any heated/cooled seats for the trims but you can include this later on as an add-on. The new model comes with plush, soft leather seats and soft leather-like material as upholstery on the side panels as well as the dash. The minivan is supposed to seat at least seven to eight persons comfortably and to that end, it is spacious enough on the interior along with requisite cargo space and cup holders, storage cabinets aplenty.
You can also opt for the auto assist driver’s seat that comes with multiple positions and makes it easy to get in and out of the car. The second-row seats come with their own footrest, thereby adding more value to this car along with the fact that it comes with a well-designed touch-screen infotainment panel as well as advanced safety features.
Engine Detail, launch date, and Prices:
The 2019 Toyota Sienna comes with front-wheel drive and also happens to be the only minivan to be offered with the optional all-wheel drive. It also comes with the 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 engine that produces 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. The new model is expected to be launched anytime now and the pricing is expected to range from $33935 to $37625, depending on the trim.
